Kim & Mike’s Sunday Jam @ Spirits Week 10: Special Guest The Soles

June 29, 2011

It’s Pride Week in Toronto and Kim & Mike’s Sunday Jam at Spirits is turning 10 weeks old!

We had good times last week with our special guest  Melanie Peterson, and there was a bonus set from Elana Harte too! The drums courtesy of Long & McQuade got a work out from myself & Mike Costantino, and also from Wayne Orgill who played with Melanie, and then later with others. Always so fun!

Week 10 we present to you our special guest: The Soles!

Din is the front man for this Toronto based act described as a mix of Rock & Roll, Pop, Punk, Reggae, Folk, Spirituality and Politics.

Their latest EP – Broken Ghost – produced by Marc Meriläinen has been garnering good press, and doing well at college radio across the country – it just hit #14 on the CHLY charts from Nanaimo, BC as of June 21, 2011. says: “The Soles is a little rebellious Toronto punk band. ‘They say that some have and some of us don’t, if we’re all one body how could one arm be broke?‘ is a powerful line that comes off the title track.

I personally enjoy Din’s positivity, thoughtful lyrics, and his Bono-like looks and attitude. Check out The Soles music online at itunes and live at Kim & Mike’s Sunday Jam at Spirits on Sunday July 3rd!

And… don’t forget to bring your guitar and play a few songs yourself, too – unless you’re going to play the house keyboard or drum kit!
